The Realtek RTL8139D(L) is a highly integrated and cost-effective single-chip Fast Ethernet controller. Providing a highly flexible multi-function mode (Realtek patent pending), the new chip is able to support a versatile combination of applications. Furthermore, the RTL8139D(L) is equipped with a PCI and Boot ROM share interface (Realtek patent pending) for both EPROM and Flash Memory to provide maximum network security and ease of management.

The RTL8139D(L) offers an ACPI (Advanced Configuration Power Interface) management function to provide efficient power management for advanced operating systems with OSPM (Operating System Directed Power Management). A remote wake-up function is also provided by support to Magic Packet, Link Change, and Wake-up Frame to increase cost-efficiency in network maintenance and management. In addition, the RTL8139D(L) supports analog Auto Power-down and provides an auxiliary power auto-detect function to further save power.
