Realtek Showcases Wireless Audio-Video Reference Design at CES 2009

HSINCHU, Taiwan and IRVINE, Calif. – January 8, 2009 – Realtek Semiconductor Corp. (Taiwan Stock Exchange: 2379.TW), one of the world’s largest IC design houses, is unveiling and demonstrating its wireless audio/video reference designs at CES 2009, providing a rich multimedia experience that in performance and ease of use is unmatched by any other wireless technology. Solutions built based on Wireless AV reference designs stream up to 720p video and high quality audio from PC to TV over a range of 30 feet. For audiophiles, the wireless audio-video receiver easily provides enough bandwidth to accommodate 7.1 surround sound, and the streamlined installation procedure preserves critical ease of use.

With an ultra-flexible menu of input-output options, the reference design provides OEMs and ODMs with maximum freedom to adapt and optimize the final product. For video, both VGA and HDMI output are supported, while the audio options are Line out, TOSLINK, and Audio via HDMI.
