REALTEK ENABLES FUJITSU NEXT-GENERATION WIRELESS USB-CAPABLE NOTEBOOKS

HSINCHU, Taiwan. –June 3, 2008 – Realtek Semiconductor Corp. (Taiwan Stock Exchange: 2379.TW), one of the world’s largest IC design houses, today announced it will supply Fujitsu Limited with the key component to bring multiple Wireless USB enabled notebooks to market.  With planned launches in the US and Europe in 2008, Fujitsu next-generation notebooks will provide customers enhanced wireless connectivity and ease of use.

Wireless USB builds on the proven USB ecosystem, now with over two billion wired ports, by adding the convenience and ease-of-use of wireless operation based on innovative ultra-wideband technology.  By providing a new and enhanced way of connecting to and managing heterogeneous peripherals, Wireless USB brings enhanced value to the PC and improved customer experience.

Availability

Fujitsu Wireless USB enabled notebooks are expected to ship in the US and Europe in Q3 2008.
