Wireless USB WHCI Host and Wireless Docking Station Ultra Low Power Consumption PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller
Realtek’s Half-MiniCard (HMC) and ExpressCard provide Wireless USB functionality. The MAC portion implements the Wireless Host Controller Interface (WHCI) host controller architecture, eliminating the protocol bottleneck of the Host Wire Adapter (HWA) USB2.0 interface and enabling high throughput. With a PCI Express interface, Realtek’s WHCI host solutions provide state-of-the-art I/O performance and allow manufacturers to build smaller and lighter high-performance notebook PCs/mobile devices. The dual-band WiMedia-compliant PHY supports multiple bands approved for worldwide operation, and enables a single worldwide SKU.
On the device side, the Wireless USB docking station uses certified, standards-based technology with modules based on Realtek’s RTU7105 Wireless USB device. A Wireless USB docking station extends the innovative and convenient USB-based docking station concept by adding wireless functionality and providing an ultra convenient way to manage USB peripherals, audio/video, and Ethernet through a single unit.
Advanced WLAN ICs
Ultra low power consumption PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (less than 0.5W@max. performance). The RTL8111D(L) features Realtek’s Green Ethernet power saving functions and ULPM (Ultra Low Power Mode) during system suspend stages (3.3mW@D3 cold).
DVB-T COFDM Demodulator + USB2.0 for PC-TV Module
IEEE 802.11n, 2.4GHz, 2T2R, MAC/BB/RF PCI-Express Single-Chip WLAN
Compact (8mm x 8mm QFN68 package) and highly integrated 802.11n WLAN single-chip IC. The RTL8192SE integrates PA, EEPROM, and switching regulators, and can be placed in a Half-MiniCard (HMC) with single-sided components. The PHY rate is up to 300MHz in both directions.
IEEE 802.11n, 2.4GHz, 1T2R, MAC/BB/RF USB2.0 Single-Chip WLAN
Compact (8mm x 8mm QFN68 package) and highly integrated 802.11n WLAN single-chip IC. The RTL8191SU integrates PA, EEPROM, and switching regulators, and can be placed on a 20mm x 30mm or 17mm x 40mm PCB, including two printed antennas. The PHY rate is up to 300MHz.
IEEE 802.11n 2.4GHz, 2T2R, Two-Chip AP/Router Solution
The RTL8192SE is an 802.11n single band (2.4GHz) 2T2R MAC/BB/RF in a single chip. The RTL8196B is a 5-port 10/100Mbps Ethernet switch embedded with a high performance 32-bit RISC CPU. The high integration of both chips provides a very competitive AP/Router solution.
Embedded USB2.0 and an internal 1.2V switching regulator make the RTL2832U a low-cost DVB-T MiniCard/USB Dongle solution. With ZIF RF output, DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting), USB-IF, high mobility, RC6 IR protocol, and S3/S4 support, the RTL2832U is the ideal Digital TV module solution for NB/UMPC/MID.
