Carbon Reduction Management of Key Suppliers
Realtek is committed to mitigating the impact of climate change and working with our supply chain partners to continuously improve their capabilities in terms of low-carbon operation. In order to reduce the Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions, Realtek promotes a joint commitment among key supplier partners to achieve a minimum annual reduction of 2% in carbon intensity. Realtek is tracking and auditing the relevant carbon reduction measures of key suppliers as follows, and will continue to work with its supply chain partners to promote the carbon reduction process.
Local Procurement
Realtek adhere to the principle of local procurement for both general purchasing and contract manufacturing to boost the local economy stability and create local job opportunities. Local procurement also reduces carbon emissions from transportation and minimize energy consumption. In 2022, Realtek had a total of 530 general local suppliers and 71 non-local suppliers that accounted for 93% of all procurements by value, representing a 17% increase compared to the previous year; and 17 local contract manufacturers that accounted for 93% of contract outsourcing, marking a 4% increase from the previous year. Realtek continues to build a sustainable supply chain, ensuring long-term partnerships with suppliers based on professional specialization and mutual cooperation.
