One-LUN USB 2.0 Card Reader Controller

General Description

The RTS5176E-VB is a crystal-free, high-throughput USB 2.0-supporting card reader controller that integrates a USB 2.0 transceiver, MCU, SIE, regulators, and memory card access units into a single chip. The RTS5176E-VB supports Secure Digital™ (SDSC, SDHC, SDXC, and SDUC) and MultiMediaCard™, but only in a 1-LUN configuration; only one of these memory cards can be inserted into the RTS5176E-VB system at a time.

The RTS5176E-VB features an integrated 3.3V-to-1.8V regulator, clock generation circuitry, and a MOSFET, which can dramatically reduce the total BOM cost. In addition to its crystal-free application, the RTS5176E-VB also allows for a 48MHz OSC clock input.

The RTS5176E-VB is suitable for laptop, docking, and dongle applications. It also supports the latest power-saving features, such as modern standby, Runtime D3, and LPM L1.
