Edge AI Smart Set-Top Box
Realtek’s Edge AI smart set-top box chip family fully supports Google TV, Android TV, and Reference Design Kit (RDK) software platforms. Equipped with continuously optimized AIPQ technology, these chips provide a stable, high quality, and cutting-edge immersive audio-visual experience by dynamically adapting to bandwidth demands of OTT services. Additionally, for global Multi-System Operators (MSOs), Realtek offers pre-integrated and pre-certified set-top box solutions, significantly reducing time-to-market.
Realtek’s chip series, featuring a built-in Neural Processing Unit (NPU), will further enhance software support diversity. These chips provide versatile smart solutions for household user applications, ensuring a wide range of intelligent end-point applications.
Ethernet Solutions for Various Transmission Media
Realtek offers a range of Ethernet solutions, including PCIe and USB interface Ethernet controllers and PHY transceivers providing 10/100/1000M/2.5G/5G/10G network speeds. These solutions can be used for a variety of transmission media, including traditional Ethernet cable, coaxial cable, and optical fiber, and for conversion between various transmission media. Realtek Wi-Fi 7 enhances the wireless connection’s overall quality and coverage, while Realtek’s Ameba IoT and Wi-Fi solutions support advanced Wi-Fi sensing technology, which is a groundbreaking innovation in smart home applications. The principle involves detecting disturbances in Wi-Fi signals, similar to how ripples are formed when an object moves through a calm pool. These disturbances vary with different activities, and AI algorithms are used to interpret these variances to accurately determine human activity. As smart products become more common in homes, this technology leverages existing Wi-Fi signals, enabling each smart device to be easily upgraded with Wi-Fi sensing capabilities through AI algorithms, and offering a futuristic user experience in home automation applications. Realtek's Ameba series is a well-known IoT chipset solution used in worldwide smart home appliances. It is a reliable, stable, and highly integrated IoT solution. In 2023 Realtek launched a new generation IoT solution with upgraded Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The new generation offers CSI (Channel State Information), smart voice capabilities, and heightened security. As well as being an ideal solution for smart home applications, the new generation Ameba is suitable for other markets, such as industrial control and low power consumption markets.
Matter over Thread and Bluetooth Dual Mode (BR/EDR, LE Audio) HCI Transceiver Control Chip Solutions
Realtek Matter over Thread, encompassing the Matter over Thread End Device, Radio Co‑Processor (RCP) Border Router, and Thread Display Controller, facilitate the seamless construction of a highly compatible smart home ecosystem. The RCP solution leverages the OpenThread protocol within set-top boxes to function as a border router. This setup enables the control of smart home devices, such as home lighting (Matter over Thread End Device) via the Thread Display Controller and allows for the access of Matter over Wi-Fi or Thread smart plug through a wireless router. The system integrates effortlessly with existing Google platforms, ensuring easy adoption for users.
Realtek's Matter over Thread Bluetooth solution features an advanced wireless multi-mode transceiver controller, a low-power high-performance MCU with TrustZone, an Audio Codec, Ethernet RMII, and a Display Controller interface. This combination highlights the solution's extensive versatility and applicability across various domains. Realtek’s next‑generation Bluetooth dual-mode transceiver chip supports traditional Bluetooth, Low Energy Bluetooth, and LE Audio protocols. It enables computers and set-top boxes to upgrade to devices with the latest LE Audio protocol-support, accelerating product upgrades to bring new Bluetooth applications to market.
